On the 30th of January 16, enthusiastic Year 11 and 12 students started their journey in Certificate III in Real Estate Practice as part of the high VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VETDSS) program.
Students will dedicate 2 days a week during School terms in 2024 for training at our facility in the city. By the end of the school year, students would have completed this course gaining skills in Property Management, Sales, and Administration, whilst obtaining up to 50 credits towards their NT Certificate of Education (NTCE).
What’s more exciting is that we’ve strategically included the 5 Interim units from Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice in this course. This means that upon graduation, these students will be well-equipped to enter the workforce. They will have the necessary knowledge and units to obtain their Interim Registration when they turn 18, with a solid understanding of an assistant agent’s role.
This approach benefits the students and reduces the investment required for our members for future training should they hire one of the graduates.
We see this program as a long-term investment toward addressing industry skills shortage.
Our commitment to providing valuable opportunities doesn’t stop here. In term 1 of 2024, we will be seeking expressions of interest from members who would like to take on a student for a week of work experience. Stay tuned for more details! Future Property Manager alert!
While this program is currently available in the Top End only, we want to assure you that Katherine, Gove, and Alice Springs are in our radar to be added for 2025
As you can imagine, we are EXCITED for what’s to come!
