REINT’s much anticipated International Women’s Day luncheon was held on 13 March at Wharf One, Waterfront, Darwin City. The theme of the event was “Women of Influence in Real Estate”.
REINT was fortunate to have Anna Neelagama, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Australia flying over to Darwin as the keynote speaker for the event. Other speakers were Amelia Nuku, CEO of Industry of Skills Advisory Council NT and Nadia D’Souza, Senior Associate, HWL Ebsworth, Darwin. All three presentations were well received with some inspirational personal experiences shared. The MC for the event was Rekha Kulkarni from 104.1 Territory FM.
The event was attended by over 60 members with some light-hearted group events included to boost networking and interactions amongst participants. A donation to the recognised charity of the day was made to NT Working Women’s Centre (NTWWC) with a speech from Director Nicki Petrou concluding the event.
REINT CEO Aswin De Silva said the event was a resounding success with representation from independent and franchise member networks across Darwin.
“We thought of limiting the number so that members can mingle and better interact for networking”.
“It’s a step in the right direction to start with and we will have a thought process to include a higher number of participants for REINT’s second such event in 2024.”
The CEO added that over 70% of the REINT member network is Women and recognising Women in Real Estate will be a priority for the institute, every year going forward.
